| View in browser Headless Software Is Reframing Where Customer Value Happens   Hi there,   One of the more interesting shifts happening in SaaS right now is not about adding another dashboard, feature, or workflow. It is about making software more flexible, more embedded, and more available in the places people already work. That is the promise behind “headless” software. Salesforce has introduced Headless 360, positioning it as a way for agents and experience layers to access Salesforce data and workflows across different channels. Gainsight is advancing this idea with Atlas AI Agents, focused on guiding customers from onboarding to outcomes at scale. Planhat’s AI Platform reflects a similar direction, bringing AI workflows and customer context together across CRM, tickets, transcripts, knowledge bases, and more.   Why the pivot? Because software buyers do not want more tabs, dashboards, and handoffs. They want work to happen where their teams already operate. In a headless world, the “system of record” becomes less visible, while the “system of action” becomes more important. For post-sales teams, that means Customer Success can no longer rely on scheduled check-ins, manual health scoring, and reactive escalations. The new mandate is to design customer journeys where signals, workflows, and interventions move fluidly across people, systems, and AI.   For post-sales leaders, this is a major opportunity because headless software expands the surface area where value can be delivered. Professional Services can design more embedded implementations. Technical Support can resolve issues closer to where customers experience friction. Customer Success can orchestrate proactive guidance based on real-time signals, not just QBRs or renewal dates. The practical takeaway: start by mapping the moments in your customer journey where customers leave their flow of work to get help, find information, or take action. Then ask, “Could this step be automated, embedded, or agent-assisted?” The teams that answer that question well will not just support headless software. They will turn it into a retention and expansion advantage. Need help with your strategy? Reply to this email and we’ll find time to talk. Meet Ishan Gupta Senior Vice President of Customer Success at Zinier  Ishan's fun fact: I wrote a book at the age of 23. This was an entrepreneurship book and contained snippets from some of the leading entrepreneurs, including a foreword from the founder of Hotmail. The book also had a quote from the President of India.   Ishan's current curiosity:  My current curiosity is how I can continue to use AI to make my daily life more productive and deploy it professionally so people can engage in more high-value work.   Systems Ishan has in progress: I built a tutoring app for my seven-year-old son. I completely vibe coded it from scratch. You can check it out at https://meetnira.com   A recent challenge Ishan has solved: I recently had to drive enablement for ~30 sales people. I used an AI-native sales and training enablement tool that helped me create customer personas and role plays on top of them. The sales team was able to do this at their own time and get real-time feedback from the tool. At the end of the 10-week engagement each salesperson had done more than 3 hours of role playing practice and indicated higher levels of confidence in real customer conversations.
